The air up there at the Terrace Drags

The Daily News

The last race of the 2006 had the only rain out day of the whole year.
But the 2007 season opener in May was rained out for one of the two day’s. This time around, everyone was expecting rain after the weather forecast and this came true, with showers Friday evening.
However that was the last we saw of the rain for the weekend. Instead a full slate of racing was run, even the “Street Series Shootout” went off as scheduled Saturday evening.
A sticky track and good weather had several racers run their “Best Ever” times, Kitimat’s Ryan McDonald and Tony Demilo of Terrace were two of them.
The sticky track had another effect on the other cars, with at least Ten cars pulling their tires on launch.
There were some catastrophic failures too, Dave Saunders from Kitimat destroyed a drive shaft, rear end and transmission in his ride “ The Purple Pig” on Sunday. But Saunders came back and raced his tow vehicle. I just proves you can’t stop a racer from racing.
Terrace cleaned up on the weekend with Kitimat’s Dwayne Adams taking home second place and Tanner Daum taking a third in Junior’s on Sunday being the only exceptions.
