The 2010 Northwest Show and Shine circuit kicks off this weekend with the Second annual Cruisin’ the Valley Car show in Smithers. Hosted by the Smithers Branch of the Burnout Bozos Hot Rod Club, It will be held Saturday June 5th in Smithers at the Hudson Bay Lodge. Included will be a Swap Meet with free tables, a Car Corral – buy or sell, automotive related vendors, BBQ food, music and will end with entertainment in the evening with a dance. Special room rates are available for out of towner’s. Just call the Hudson Bay Lodge and tell them you are with the car show. For more information phone 250-847-5346.

Next weekend The Prince Rupert Auto Club’s Annual Show and Shine will be held as part of the weekend’s Seafest Celebration. Billed as Prince Rupert Auto Club’s Seafest Saturday, the event will include the ever popular Show and Shine and this year will include two new events. There will be a Judged Sound-off, with the equipment being brought for judging. A burnout contest will also bring up the excitement level. This will be held behind the Northern Savings Credit Union from 4pm to 6pm, after the Show and Shine. The Show And Shine and Sound-off will be held on Third Ave by City West from 1pm to 4pm.

This will be followed by the Annual Skeena Valley Cruizers Fathers Day Show And Shine, Sunday June 20th, in the Terrace Canadian Tire Parking lot.

Three great weekends to view some of the best looking rides in the Northwest. Don’t miss out on these event’s.

In Northwest drag racing news, the newly formed Nechako Valley Motor Sports Association has announced a new Drag Race. There will be 1/8 mile racing in The Valley at the Vanderhoof Airport July 16, 17 & 18th with a dance at the arena to follow Saturdays racing.

The next drag race of the season will be held at the Terrace Regional Airport June 19th and 20th..

The Ketchikan Kruizers car club pulled off a small coup last weekend at their Test and Tune at the Metlakatla Alaska Airport. Club Contact Gary Webb informs me that “Tamara Parks (NHRA Wally Parks grand daughter) was in Ketchikan and she came over to watch us race. She made her first ever drag car pass in my Camaro!”said Webb. Congratulations guys!
