Congratulations must go out to the Nechako Valley Motor Sports Association on their successful first race July 16th to 18th. An estimated 50 cars lined up to make runs down the 1/8 mile track set up at the Vanderhoof Airport. There were a few teething problems, some of them due to the angle of the track and the sun. Nothing that could not be fixed.  Overall though the race was a great success and racers had a great time.

It is good to have another event in the area and hopefully this will bring new racers and fans into the fold.

Next up:

One of the biggest races in the Northwest is set to run Sunday, August 1st and Monday ,August 2nd at the Terrace regional airport. Hot August Nites, part of the riverboat days weekend, will feature “Nitro Mike” and his Wheel-standing PT Cruiser “Walking Tall”. There will also be a “Quick 8” for the fast cars. More to follow next week in my column.
