Hot August Nites Quick 8 event

Hi everyone,
Here are a few key points to note for this years Hot August Nites Quick 8 event. The event will run on Monday August 2nd alongside King of the YXT.
#1    Quick 8 will only be open to cars & dragsters, no bikes or sleds for this class.
#2      $100.00 entry fee
#3    Pro Tree or full tree will be discussed at drivers meeting.
#4    All cars that qualify for Quick 8 will receive a tshirt, $20 value
#5    Top qualifier will be recognized.
#6    If a car breaks after the Quick 8 field is set, there will not be any other cars allowed in.

Camping and race fees

Friday, May 14th, 2010
“Yes” there will be camping for the 2010 race season !!
The area for camping has been clearly marked
No open fires are allowed, only barbeques and propane style
fires.
Racer & Spectator Fees have been increased due to higher
costs of opperation.
Spectators
Adult $10 per day
Kids & Seniors – Free
Racers
Weekend – $100
Daily – $60

Season Pass – $350
Junior
Weekend – $50
Daily – $25
Season Pass – $150

Racing at the yxt

For those going to the race in Terrace next weekend, there will be camping  allowed at the airport.
The airport will paint the lines, so we will have to camp a little farther back. But there will be no fires allowed. You can use propane powered heaters though

First Maintenance Day April 18th 2010

Were going to be having our first maintenance day on April the 18th at 12 noon. We the TDRA will be providing Hotdogs and Pop but ask that you guys would bring potluck style for anything else you want to eat. We’ve got A LOT of work to do before the begining of the season and could REALLY and I mean REALLY use a hand with getting ready.

Please come out even if it’s only for an hour or so every little bit helps!!

Here’s a general idea of what needs to get done:

Logs:
-Pick out the balance of good logs from our old ones
-Have all the logs debarked
-Get rid of all the old logs
-Put all the new logs in place

Bleachers:
-Scrape paint on needed areas and repaint
-Replace 3 x “2×10″ planks
-bring paint/scrapers/sockets/grinder cutoff/check paint supplies/rollers

Tower entrance ramp:
-Bring welder and maklr a small metal brace
-Black spray paint
-Wire brush
-Roll with grey paint

Time slip shack:
-Replace roof
-Bring circular saw
-Repaint it all green

Registration shack:
-Fix bottom support
-Paint it all green

Tower:
-Repaint the front of the tower & where needed
-Reconfigure front of the tower, Chris and Tom to coordinate this Ron Nuis/ Doug Mcphaden
-Reconfigure front of the tower
-Air conditioner & airflow problem
-Organize tower for the season
-Redo one of the Supports for cabling that’s bent
-Paint all the rims white

Tree/Computer:
-Fix lite pots on tree
-Paint lite stand black

Chevy truck:
-Need 2″ ball
-Battery
-Vacumm interior
-TDRA logo

Dodge:
-Battery
-Quick clean up
-Fix tire
-Look to replace the truck long term

-Sandbags:
-Double up bags / Blake to check
-Coordinate pallets & belts
-We need 50 more made

Pit vehicle:
-Engine neds to be pulled and resealed
-Ultimately look for a used ATV

Washrooms:
Cleaned and preped for season

Storage trailers:
-Organize both trailers
-Fix wood stairs for one trailer
-Check all barriers / Do they need paint
-We need fuel for the vehicles
-Maitenance generators
-Garbage run
-Organize signs and go through some that need to be remade / check no smoking signs for the front

Reader Boards:
-Pull reader boards out of trailer and remount & clean up / general checkover

Fire stations:
-Cleaned up and painted

Garbage cans:
-Need to come up with rope & sandbags for each one

-Get tower & storage truck running

As you can see we’ve got a TONNE of work that needs to be done in preperation for this years up and coming races so again ALL / ANY help would be GREATLY apprecaited!!!
